The best part of March Madness Brackets being revealed is where what teams will be seeded where. Sunday will be the day where teams are officially announced into the field. Some teams that are currently in the bubble right now will be left out.
Betting on March Madness is no easy task for anyone. Projecting the field of 68 is no easy task either. What are some of the potential bets for over/under seedings for some of the potential teams that will crack the NCAA Tournament?
Michigan State Spartans
The Michigan State Spartans have a money line of -120 for potentially being over an 8.5 seed and also under an 8.5 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. As of right now, the Spartans are projected to be the eighth seed in the NCAA Tournament. They have had an underwhelming regular season and this hasn’t been one of Tom Izzo’s stronger basketball teams.
Michigan State will be the seventh seed in the BIG10 Tournament. They finished the regular season with a 20-11 overall record and an 11-9 conference record. As long as they win at least one game in the BIG10 Tournament, they should be at least an eighth seed, so bet the -120 money line for the over 8.5 seed.
Alabama Crimson Tide
The Alabama Crimson Tide was a Top 10 basketball team to start the season, but they have had an up and down season in the SEC. Alabama has the talent to win a couple of games in the NCAA Tournament. The Crimson Tide money line to be over a 6.5 seed in the NCAA Tournament is -115 and the money line to be under a 6.5 seed in the NCAA Tournament is -125.
They will be the sixth seed in the SEC Tournament. Alabama finished with a 19-12 record during the regular season and a 9-9 SEC Conference record. They are projected to be a number five seed in the NCAA Tournament, which seems to be high for them. However, if they do get seeded that high, it is because of potential in the big dance and they should win a game or two in the SEC Tournament.
The over 6.5 seed should be bet here for the Alabama Crimson Tide, with a money line of -115.
Ohio State Buckeyes
The Ohio State Buckeyes have a money line of -120 for being potentially over the 6.5 seed in the NCAA Tournament and also under the 6.5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Ohio State is projected to be a number six seed right now in the NCAA Tournament.
They are the fifth seed in the BIG10 tournament with a 19-10 overall record and a 12-8 conference record. This team is capable of going to win this conference tournament and if they do that, Ohio State will for sure be at least better than a sixth seed. If they falter, it is very possible they could drop to a seventh seed or an eighth seed.
It probably will not happen, so a bet on the over 6.5 seed with a money line of -120 makes the most sense here.
Miami Florida Hurricanes
The Miami Florida Hurricanes money line is -120 for both potentially being over 10.5 seed in the NCAA Tournament and also under a 10.5 seed for the NCAA Tournament. The fact that they are only potentially going to be only a 10th seed in the big dance is a joke.
The ACC was down this year, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see them win the ACC Tournament and be either an eighth seed or a ninth seed. Miami (FL) is projected to be the 10th seed right now. They finished the regular season with a 22-9 record overall and a 14-6 conference record in the ACC.
The bet of over 10.5 seed with a -120 money line makes the most sense here.
